Got the Pirelli Sottozero's for my Audi A8 for the winter.
Fantastic tyre - they have the look of a summer tyre with the performance of a winter one.
Increased road noise from them but this is to be expected.
I've run them in dry, wet, soaking wet, snow and ice and they performed well in every condition - with only a slight slip on the ice - although this was more than likely me pushing things a little too much - short of studded tyres I don't think much will grip the ice too well anyhow !!!
As the set I bought were second hand when I got them I made the decision to run them pretty much right through the summer also - very happy with wear rates on them.
Dry grip is great - but the tyres do squeal quite easily if you're starting to push them.
Wet grip is fantastic - given the tread patterns they have an ability to really resist aquaplaning - to the point they can probably give you too much confidence...I found myself overtaking people in absolutely torrential rain without so much as a twitch from the tyres.
Grip on snow is good - as these are the only winter tyre I've had I can't really compare but I was happy with the grip levels - there are some other winter tyres out there with more aggressive tread patterns which I think look like they should grip better (Dunlop & Nokian) but I think these may be more suited to countries where it snows more than the UK.
Liked them enough to have bought a new set in ready for the winter.

It maybe premature to review these tyres after only 2 days, but they have totally transformed my car. I decided to replace the hardly worn Goodyear EfficientGrip previously fitted, which are separately reviewed. The Nokian's are comfortable and eerily quiet. The car is very stable with high levels of grip which gives greater confidence to driver and passengers. I have not rated wear as it is far too early to give an objective assessment. The fact that these tyres have slightly less environmental impact in their manufacture is also appealing. Bought on-line, these tyres were substantially cheaper to other more well known and advertsied brands. Can't wait to try them out in the snow (fingers crossed for a White Christmas). Highly recommended.

An awesome tyre wet and dry, especially in heavy rain and for my relatively heavy Audi A8 Quattro Sport, in which I don't hold back. I've been running these tyres (inc their predecessor FK451's) for 7 years, becasue the shere grip and performance you get per £ is unrivalled. I have a Motortrade background so have driven and comapred them to many other more expensive tyres and only Bridgestone's came close. The compromise (for me) is possibly wear, but I do drive 'enthusiatically' with a heavywight auto. I thoroughly recommend them.

Audi A8 W12 6.0L Quattro (444bhp)
Car came with Potenza RE40s - Which were good in the dry but the comfort was terrible and were very noisy for the last half of their life. Switched to F1 Asymmetric and the difference in noise & comfort was excellent even as they wear.
Very good grip in wet and dry even on a heavy car.
Will buy again.

DO NOT BUY Dunlop tyres! My car came with them already fitted and the front offside tyre developed a defect after about 10000 miles in the form of an egg in the sidewall. As my car is a quattro I had to replace two tyres at a cost of almost ?600, but expected to get a refund once Dunlop had confirmed the defect. Instead they insisted that there was no manufacturing defect, and refused to refund me the cost as they said I had either gone down a pothole or kerbed the wheel. I was interested to know how I would kerb an offside wheel! Apart from the fact that it was an offside wheel I don't make a habit of driving at speed into kerbs with wheels which would cost a small fortune to replace. I also told them that I hadn't been down any potholes with that particular wheel, although the nearside front has been down some enormous potholes without any damage.
I am still in dispute with them, but I've lost total confidence in their products, and certainly won't be replacing any of my currernt tyres with Dunlops.
Apart from the above they are also quite noisy, sometimes the only thing I can hear, apart from the stereo, is the tyre roar.

Bought on the basis of reviews. Extremely disappointed. May be OK on a smaller vehicle (?) but not suited to my larger saloon. Made no difference whatsoever to my fuel consumption, despite the claims. Noisy, uncomfortable, and lack of confidence in the grip in all weather conditions and seasons despite my steady driving. Have just replaced with a set of Nokian WR A3 for which are just infinitley better.

I have had them on now for about 1000 miles and have to say I am really really happy with them so far. Grippy (wet+dry), low road noise and well priced.
I'll update or write another review to comment on wear when I've had the tyres longer.
I had read another previous review where someone had put them onto the VW Phaeton (essentially the same car as the A8) and his review was mixed.
Given they are at least £50/tyre less than the nearest competitor I thought I'd take a shot on these.
I understand that these tyres were designed in the UK for UK roads (dry and wet) and so far I'm really happy - dry grip is up there with any tyre I've had before and wet grip is excellent - never leaving me needing more.
For comparison I've had Dunlop 9000's, Pirelli 6000's, Bridgestone Potenza's & the Falken FK's before and these are in the same league as all of them so far with the exception of wear which I can't comment on yet.
