Changed from original spec. Yokohama Advan Sports to these after considerable research. Tyres are the most important part of any car - you place your life in their hands and on that small contact point between rubber and tarmac, so get it right.
First impressions: After scrub in, excellent. I have driven in Pirelli's (yuk!) and Goodyear Eagle F1 GDS 2' on my Audi S3 and would categorically state that these tyres are as good as, if not better than the GDS 2's. Sure footed, excellent traction, good turn in, minimal side wall movement and excellent water displacement and general wet weather performance make this tyre a very strong contender and I would certainly recommend that you look at these.
By the way, if you are looking for summer tyres that grip and last for tend of thou's of miles, forget it - performance and long-life is like trying to mix oil and water - the recipe just does not work!

Tyre seemed to be good all round. It's on a 4x4 so not so easy to push to the limits. However, 80% of the driving has been done on motorway and after 8k miles they are worn out. Not good!

Not a bad tyre for the price but the wear rate was appalling on my Honda CRV, despite AWD. Nevertheless, rate of wear was even on all 4 Tyres without rotation. Tyres only lasted 9,000 km - now have to decide on replacements. Over the winter, was back to original 18 in OEM spec Dunlop's for winter/snow but summer is here and have to bite bullet for 19 in wheels.
Yok's were brilliant on fast, cross country Ireland trip last year but I felt tyre grip was at its limit. Lack of confidence in ability to stop vehicle safely at high speed caused me to lift throttle briefly but as former Audi S3 driver on Goodyear Eagle F1 GDS3, perhaps expecting too much from SUV with inferior tyres. After trip, they looked as though they had taken a hammering! However, road surfaces were hot and it was all on B type roads or country lanes. Honest comment - a very suitable tyre for summer use on a CRV.
Buy again - probably not given personal driving style! May opt for Continental ContiSport Contact 3.
