Writing about the Bridgestone Potenza RE050 given 84% (225-45-17-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 15000 spirited miles
Probably one of the best tyres I have ever used. I have them as 215/45/17 on a 1998 Nissan Primera using stock suspension. After using different makes, for all round driving and hard driving it has to be these. My thoughts:

Dry: Excellent take off grip, and exceptional dry handling, never had the car become nearvous on any of the corners at high speed. Using the low profile they generally shake off pot holes and bumps and are a quiet driving tyre.

Wet: Probably the best tyre i have ever used. Normal driving you can drive like it was a dry day and even grips extremly well. I feel you get minimal aqua planing with these also however they do cause a spray and can sometimes go over your own windscreen as it disperses the few litres of water on the road. Nothing a window wiper doesn't sort. least you have full control over the car. I hit a huge puddle at 60MPH and never pulled me at all..but like i said sprayed the water else where.

Winter: Not good for a winter tyre. It struggled on the ice and snow, but there again these are designed for summer.

Wear: People has mixed reviews on this but personal experiance on the Primera, i find the wear acceptable. I managed to get around 15k miles of combined easy and hard driving on them. Make sure you have your tracking done on your car however when these are fitted new...although this should be done on any tyre replacement.

Overall....I would not go past these tyres. I would be happy to spend the price to purchase these again due to good grip, fun driving, occasiona drag driving, and the most important..safety. These tyres will get you out of trouble more than the budgets!!

Driving on a combination of roads for 8000 spirited miles
These tyres are great, and really complement the Primera's chassis.
They're very soft compound wise, so the tyre won't be lasting you years, but I'd rather replace a tyre each year that wears quickly, and performs well, than use a poor performing tyre that lasts for ever!

I'd reccomend these to anyone!

Writing about the Toyo Proxes CF1 given 77% (195-60-14-H)
Driving on a combination of roads for 12000 average miles
After faithfully putting Toyo Proxes T1s on my cars for years - and driving them hard - I feel that I totally trust the Toyo range and I put CF1s on my Nissan, they are a good improvement over the previous Uniroyals in most conditions, feel smoother and create less noise while giving decent road feedback round our Cornish A & B roads. I'll be buying them again for the Nissan and getting them for my partners '07 Vauxhall Zafira if they have the size.

Mine are actually 452s as tested over 7K miles and highly recommended on this site as an excellent performing budget high performance tyre with a good wear rate.

I have found that these tyres, recently purchased and made by a japanese company, are subjectively as good as the Pirelli P6000s they replaced in all aspects. In addition, they are actually noticeably much smoother and quieter on the motorway - on my car at least - which is a most welcome improvement.

The fact they are currently ?28 cheaper per tyre than the Pirellis at Black Circles makes them an easy choice for those with access to this information. Spend more if you wish, but if you do please make sure you are actually getting something better!

Driving on mostly country roads for 1000 average miles
A very good motorway tyre. Straight high speed stability increased after putting them on but car is more resistant to turn now. it is not a issue but nature of tyre I believe. Good grip on dry and wet. Comfortable and low road noise. Just used for 1000 miles so no comment about wear rate.

Driving on mostly country roads for 5000 spirited miles
Great tyre.

It has a great compromise between grip and wear. I prefer them over similar options like Toyo R1R (less duration and more intended to light cars, mine is 1350 kg).

In wet they are pretty bad, but nothing to do with almost dangerous tyres like Pilot Sport Cup or R888 (idd, you have to be careful just when it's actually raining).

Pretty stiff sidewall, much better feeling than my previous Goodyear Asy F1.

It takes some time to them to get the right temperature, but living here (Granada, Andalucía, Spain) is not a problem -at least in Spring, Summer and the beginning of the Autumn-.

One of the best value for money tyres I've ever tried. Only problem is they're hard to find in Europe (just Camskills afaik) and we still can't buy RS3s -if I don't buy those, I will repeat with RS2s-.
