Driving on mostly town for 11000 spirited miles
I got these three a couple of years ago on a very attractive offer from Costco.

These tyres are extremely competent on a summer’s day. Above 10°c and a dry road I could never reached their limits. In the rain they are also very well put together, albeit I never pushed them in the wet.

Unfortunately, I could never fully enjoy these tyres. Due to the horrendous degradation of our roads, soon after purchase I hit an extremely bad pothole (under a railway bridge. Couldn’t see it until it was too late). Although the tyre and wheel was refitted, I never felt like I could fully trust them. This is there downside. They are extremely hard (due to being a UUHP) and just can’t cope with our roads. They get thrown about all over the place and don’t make for a pleasant ride. This isn’t the fault of the tyres, but really can’t recommend them as an everyday in the UK.

I will add finally that they are useless in the winter. This is no surprise, but under 8°c they are rock hard. So do keep this in mind. Perhaps have a set of winters/All seasons and run these only in the summer.

I will preface this with the fact that this is an initial review. Updates will follow.
I fitted the PS5s about 1200km ago coming from Bridgestone Potenza Sport, both on 225/45 R17 (94Y)

I have had the opportunity to test them in dry and wet conditions, on motorways and along country roads. Type of driving: commuting + spirited when possible.
Compared to Bridgestones when new, the PS5s have more (and more, and more) grip on dry surfaces. The car is planted on 4 wheels, the feeling is to have an AWD car instead of a FWD.
Where the Bridge showed a “dancing” rear during spirited driving, with the Mich you are on rails. And that is confidence inspiring.
On wet surfaces no differences at all.

When it comes to handling and feedback at the wheel, distinctions must be made.
Sportiness increases proportionally with speed! As long as you are travelling at low speeds, I agree with Johnatan that these tyres are slightly slow in following the steering wheel commands (in this the Bridgestones gave a quicker feel), but the higher the speed increases, the more the tyres respond instantly to steering wheel input. And it doesn't just depend on the steering-assist calibration, the feel during turn-in is exactly the same as the Bridgestones, without being too nervous at the limit. With the PS5s you are forced to drive very fast. And, oh, they are lovely!

The only drawback, for me, is the road feedback. The refinement over bumps is achieved at the expense of the rubber-to-road connection.
It is the French way of conceiving sportiness, but for cars of modest performance to be used every day on the road (no track), I think it is a compromise you can live with.

As for wear, the tyres came with 8mm tread depth. I'll update the review after 10k kms

Pirelli P Zero PZ4 rated 86% while driving a Toyota GR86
Driving on a combination of roads for 3000 spirited miles
Great on dry roads or track, with great resistance to heat on track for a road tyre.
Excellent feed-back on steering!
They are a bit sketchy on wet cold roads.
I did a pretty long track day with them and around 5'000km on the road, they have around 5'000km left.

Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport rated 44% while driving a Renault
Driving on mostly country roads for 10000 spirited miles
Having run many sets of Michelin Pilot Supersports over the years on my Megane R26, I fancied a change. I bought these Goodyears and very quickly noticed a heavy pull in the direction of the camber. Furthermore, when they wore down to abo 2mm they were dreadful in the wet.
I’m now back on the Michelins and the car is a pleasure to drive once again.
Avoid.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 rated 89% while driving a Mitsubishi Lancer Mivec
Driving on mostly motorways for 15000 average miles
Dry and wet grip are excellent. The handling is awesome as well. It’s less comfortable than my earlier set of tires (a set of 16” Yokohama Advan a460’s, which absorbed surface imperfections better), but now I know what sporty tires really feel. It ran about 20k kms going into their third season now. I now wish my car had a few dozen more horsepower. The fuel consumption went down by around 10% despite this is a wider set than the Yokohama’s. I would recommend the Asymmetric 6’s but for stronger/sportier cars mainly to harness their full potential.

Good grip both in dry and wet conditions, pretty comfort, road noise is mild to a bit loud.
Will definitely re-buy again.

Michelin Pilot Sport 5 rated 88% while driving a Volkswagen Golf 5 GTI
Driving on mostly country roads for 3000 spirited miles
Got a set of pilot sport 5 for my tuned Mk 5 golf Gti after I watched the tyre review youtube video. Best tyre I've ever had on the car , came with Dunlop Sport max which where terrible in the wet .Got a set of Yokohama not sure the model of Tyre sorry but they where even worse .The pilot sport are fantastic in the dry car goes round corners like its on tracks only down side is , there is a bit of road noise not bad but a small price to pay i suppose . I've only done roughly 3000 miles so cant say what overall ware is like . But if you are looking for a Tyre that grips has good feedback and not much sidewall roll pilot sport 5 is definition worth consideration.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 rated 89% while driving a BMW 320D xDrive Gran Turismo
Driving on a combination of roads for 1000 spirited miles
Very good tyre, I'm very pleased with them. Exactly what I expected, very good mix between performance/price/comfort.
Are very quiet, after 80 km/h I hear only some noise from the wind. Road feedback is very good, are very good for 18" wheels, I know very well what's happening with stearing of the car on cornering even at higher speed, good sidewall enforcement as well.
I looked for competition but were much more expensive and didn't have the same properties especially for noise level.
I used tyres from competition, premium brands but I came many times back to GoodYear because they have the good mix for me.
Definitely I will buy them again. Very good job Goodyear.

Pirelli P Zero rated 50% while driving a Hyundai Kona N
Driving on a combination of roads for 400 average miles
Unfortunately, the factory equipped tires on my 2022 Hyundai Kona N were Pirelli P-Zeros. All the Kona N's were equipped with these high-performance tires, a poor choice by Hyundai. These tires seem to be made with a very poor compound, as they mine were in this condition after the car sat a half year on the dealer's lot: Hyundai Canada won't warranty them, as they say it is a tire manufacturer issue, and the consumer needs to contact Pirelli directly, whom I have heard is very difficult to deal with. I ended up selling the car shortly after. It's disgraceful that Pirelli would put out a product like this.

As far as ride is concerned, they do grip extremely well, but only in warm (+15C and above) temperatures. Anything close to freezing temperature or below, and they basically become like hockey pucks. Don't even THINK about driving on snow with these tires! In hot weather, they are sticky. They will pick up every bit of dirt and sand and fling it against the sides and underside of your car, so consistent use on gravel is not a good idea. Also, they are fairly loud and communicate a dull roar to the passenger cabin.

In summary, I would not purchase these tires again, no way.
