When new they take around 100 miles to run in before you get the most grip out of them. Ride comfort and road feedback are good, the grip in the dry is excellent and wet grip is not that far behind and they let you know when you are about to lose grip.
Wear wise have done 1500 miles and down to 7mm on the fronts, so they are looking good in that area.
Compared to Continental Sport Contact 2's and Toyo Proxes T1-S which I have had previously, the FK452' beat these hands down in all areas. Would definitely have these fitted again

My Mondeo had Continetal Sport Contact 2's as original equipment. I did not like them and soon set about choosing an different tyre when it came to replace them. First to be changed were the fronts for AVON ZZ3's which were definitely better. Then when all four required replacement, after reading the reviews on this forum, I decided on the FK452's.
My first impressions were that I had made a disastrous mistake. The car was all over the place, grip was hopeless, road noise was appalling and the ride quality choppy. Fortunately I referred back to this website and noticed that these tyres take sometime to run in. So I persevered and it was worth it. I would estimate that it was a good 300 miles/500kms before the tyres bedded in sufficiently. Now I am very happy with them. I do a lot of autoroute kms so I appreciate the directional stability of this tyre. Wet road grip and resistance to aquaplaning at high speeds is also excellent. As the tyres have aged road noise suppression is also excellent and the ride quality is very good. I have experimented with different tyre pressures especially when the tyres were new, but find Fords 2.5 bar fr/ 2.3 rear to be the best combination.
The front tyres have now reached the point where the Contis and AVONs were worn out: 23,000kms, but the Falkens are down to 4mm. The only complaint I have about this tyre is the very poor rim protection. In fact the tyres look a size narrower on the rim than the AVON ZZ3. That aside, I will be ordering another two from the online supplier.

I'm quite a fan of these tyres, while they do not feature a super sticky compound they soak up bumps exceedingly well and I would go as far to say that they are the most comfortable tyre I’ve had on my car. The sidewalls are very soft and fold under hard cornering, but Continental have not sacrificed straight line grip; instead the tread pattern is made up of a very good compound and there is plenty of straight line grip.
A comfortable but safe tyre, you don’t see that very often.

So when the awful tyres made of cheese wore out (standard fitment Conti Sport Contact 2), I tried these out. £35 a tyre cheaper than Ford's standard fitment and they lasted 5000 miles longer on fronts (20000 before wear out). In all areas apart from road noise they are better than the Contis. Wet grip is especially good and I'm about to get another set (high mileage user). Good thing is that the grip dis not drop off too much as the tyres approached 3mm. By 5mm the Contis seemed shot!

I have found the tread to be of a good compound and provides a good amount of grip when pulling away or braking. However the side walls are very soft and flex when you push round a corner, the upside of this is that they are very comfortable and rather quiet.
Not the best tyre in the world but a safe one, if these came fitted to my car as standard then I would not be disappointed.

There were four of these on the car when I bought it, the rears were just worn in but the front ones were very worn, so I did a deal with the garage to get new ones. I have done 10k miles since then, over all types of road and with all sorts of loads. They are down to 6mm left all round now, so are wearing reasonably well.
On A roads these are fantastic, with good feel, and good grip in all weathers, so for most journeys, I love them. The stability and feel on corners is really nice for a big family car.
They are quite noisy at motorway speeds though (and I mean some way north of 70), particularly when the tyres are inflated to full load carrying pressures. I have found the tyre pressure really affects the level of noise. This may just be a consequence of having the 18" rims, but it is a bit wearing on long trips. The noise seems to depend massively on the quality of the tarmac too, more so than in other cars I have had, as on the occasional stretch of good smooth road, the noise goes right down. The comfort level is fairly good at normal pressures, but at full load pressures they are a bit more bumpy.
I'm probably going to try another tyre with a more traditional tread pattern next to see if I can get something quieter, but these do have good qualities, and if only I could drive at less than 70 all the time, they would be fine.

It seems to be fashionable to slander the P6000, but through my experience I will not be following suite. I have had P6000’s on the front and back of my Mondeo and I can’t really complain, they aren’t a patch on Toyo T1-R’s but then they were never intended to be. They wear well, are relatively comfortable and provide a sufficient amount of grip to drive quickly and safely. I can’t say I’d buy them again, but they are from their image of baby killers and widow makers.
Having sad that, they almost put me in a gravel pit at Donnington Park when the rear stepped out without warning..., drive with a bit of common sense on the road and they will look after you.

A very hard tyre, it looks like it will last for a while as at 15000 miles in they seem to be in good condition but you get a lot of road noise and not that much wet grip. Very average. Will try some goodyear GSD3s next.

Very poor wear rate, only lasted 16000 miles (down to 1mm) on front. Tyre tends to 'tramline'. Grip and ride good otherwise. Quiet on normal roads.
Previous tyres (Continental Sport Contact 2, Michelin Pilot Primacy) each wore better (23000 miles) on front.

These provided decent levels of grip in the dry; for a budget tyre. Though in the wet they could be quite dangerous when trying to put down 220bhp, more so mid corner.
Despite covering 7,000 fast miles they had only worn by 2mm, so definitely long lasting.

Moved onto these from Yokohama Parada Spec 2's. Good grip in the wet and good stopping ability in the wet and dry. Also very quiet. The only BIG problem with these tyres is the lack of feedback. The tyres feel very squirmy under hard cornering. Turn-in is completely devoid of feel and the car seems to give a double-entry feeling as the tyres fold over. In a lift-off oversteer situation they give no indication to when the car will snap-back into line. Tried pressures from 32psi upto 38psi and still the same. definately will NOT be buying these again.

225/40/18 Conti Sport Contact 2 were standard factory fitment on various ST and Titanium X Mondeo company cars I've had. In all cases my overall opinon is that these tyres are awful. They are quite good in the dry and with all its tread and relatively quiet on such a low profile. Once worn to about 5mm any positives are gone. Wear rate is rubbish - front tyres lasted about 15000 miles with motorway driving. Wet grip is poor and they just love to aqua-plane at the merest hint of moistness. Since I bought a company car I tried Falken FK452XL when the tyres made of cheese wore out. £35 a tyre cheaper, they lasted 5000 miles more, Falken FK452XL are so much better.

I had 4 of these Goodyear NCT F1's fitted to my Mondeo ST TDCi Wagon and after 8000 miles both rear tyres had distorted and ovaled out. The car suffered vibrations and wheelbearing type noise at speeds of 50-55mph.
My car was booked into Fords for a warranty repair for a ossilating noise at 50-55mph coming from the rear of the vehicle.Ford condemed the tyres as unfit/dangerous even though the tyres themselves had 5mm of usable tread remaining.
A friend of mine also had these fitted to his Mondeo ST TDCi hatchback and they distorted after 6000 miles.
All I can say is I will not buy them again as for me they were a complete waste of money at £103 a tyre.
Premium tyre? I would of got more mileage out of a remould.

Impressive stopping power, as well as complimenting my cars steering response too. Will buy again.
