Driving on mostly country roads for 2500 spirited miles
Brilliant tyre!!! Trust me these are unbelievable for the price and are up there with Bridgestone Potenza's!! Im in Ireland with a very wet climate and these are fantastic in the wet - gave me great confidence and as for dry grip, excellent! have bought another set for my van!

Writing about the Toyo T1R given 84% (225-45-17-W)
Driving on a combination of roads for 2500 average miles
Currently only on the rear wheels, so some of the above points are guesstimates based on how the back end feels (with a front wheel drive car).
Compared to the well worn out Michelins that were on it when I picked it up, the back feels more connected and will probably rotate these to the front when I change them for Falken FK-452s.
That way I'll be able to report on the similarity/difference with the Falkens on the rear, and how the Toyo T1-Rs are at the driving end.
Some cite the soft sidewall (relatively speaking) as a detractor for the T1-Rs - I guess we'll see if that's true or not once they go on the front.

I highly recommend them, and if it weren't for the FK-452s, I'd simply have stuck a set of T1-Rs on the front and been done with it - but it's worth experiencing and experimenting to help myself and others sort the wheat from the chaff.

Writing about the Falken FK452 given 81% (225-45-17-W)
Driving on a combination of roads for 5000 spirited miles
Replacing the Vredestein Sessantas that were on before, and reviewed here, the FK452's felt brilliant from the off on the front, albeit slightly more noisy, I think - I wouldn't stake my life on it!
Nevertheless, compared to the Sessantas, the FK452's seem a much better tyre in all conditions, more noticeably in the damp greasy conditions with a lot of steering input.

High marks all round for them, but not quite the star performer for me - that, after having rotated them to the back, and brought the Toyo T1-R's to the front for the first time, has to go to them. Absolutely excellent tyres, and have not put a foot wrong in any weather condition - recent icy underfoot days included.

That said, with the Falkens on the rear, there's no complaints there, and as much as the Toyos are better, if I was only able to get the FK452's (price/availability/etc) I'd be quite happy with that situation.

Writing about the Yokohama ADVAN Sport given 81% (---)
Driving on for 0 miles
The Yokohama Advan V103 is more superior to my old Michelin Pilot Sport 2! period! It grips equally well in the dry and almost as good in heavy rain. (I skidded twice before on my Michelin PS 2. Fortunately the DSC and ESP saved the day) It corners just as well as the Michelin PS 2. The bonus part is the Yokohama v103 run much quieter than the Michelin PS 2!!! Ride is more softer too making this tyre an excellent everyday tyre to use and the occasional spirited weekends when necessary. This is one fabulous safe tyre at any cost for the whole family.

Writing about the Yokohama AVS DB S2 given 80% (225-45-17-W)
Driving on mostly country roads for 5000 average miles
One of the best tyres that I have ever had. Grip & feedback is excellent.

The first set on my car lasted 19000 miles which is OK for wear I suppose.

I believe these tyres are supposed to be made to be quiet-that's what the dB is for. I didn't actually think that they were that quiet. I had goodyears on for a very short time & they were quieter. However, this doesn't bother me-I just want them to grip & this is what they do.

They're not the cheapest or easiest to get hold of, but I'll be sticking with them in future.

Writing about the Uniroyal RainExpert given 79% (195-60-15-V)
Driving on a combination of roads for 1000 spirited miles
Bought these tyres as an economy performance tyre for a 2001 Accord. The newer Accords have bigger rims and would probably fit the higher ranged Rainsport 2 from Uniroyal.

Thus far I am very impressed with both wet and dry grip. The tyre might be a bit softer than other ones I've had which leads to a very slightly "bouncy" ride. However the feedback is excellent, and I always can tell where the tyres are and how they're gripping. It's too early to tell about wear, but they look like they'll wear average.

Overall these are an excellent budget performance tyre, buying these online was well cheap, driving on them is a hoot and I would definitely buy again.

Writing about the Goodyear Excellence given 70% (195-60-15-H)
Driving on a combination of roads for 12000 spirited miles
A good, reasonably priced tyre. Driven all year on mix of motorways and A/B roads. Comfortable ride. Reasonable grip in wet and dry, gave plenty of feedback. Only average wear, but overall perfectly reasonable and would consider again.

Writing about the Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta given 67% (225-45-17-W)
Driving on a combination of roads for 7000 spirited miles
Having put these on the front, to replace dreadful Accelera tyres the previous owner had on (which were very good on warm dry days), I was looking forward to seeing how these felt.
Initial impressions (once the slidy break-in period was dealt with) was extremely positive on both wet and dry tarmac alike, and at that point I'd have suggested the world and his sister change their tyres to them, without a hesitation.

However, as the miles went on, they progressively got less and less confidence inspiring, especially on damp greasy surfaces - still fine in the dry and wet, but would break away easily and with no real notification on tighter bends when the tarmac was merely damp.
The half-the-price Acceleras were at least consistent on both damp and wet, when a lot of steering angle was used, and just as quick to announce their letting go too.

Road noise increased too as the tread depth diminished, and after only 7K miles or thereabouts, they were completely spent and the traction control would light up if too much of the right foot was administered.

Love the look of the tyre - reminiscent of the Yoko Parada Spec 2's - but for me, they're a bit too much style over substance.

At a similar price to FK452's and T1-R's, I won't be making a beeline for them any time soon, and might look at the Hankook V12's to see how they stack up for the same £70 ish they can be had for, currently.

Writing about the Bridgestone Turanza ER300 given 60% (205-55-16-W)
Driving on a combination of roads for 65000 spirited miles
Having bought the car with Michelin Energys, decided that I would go back to the OEM spec ER300s.
1st impressions were brilliant. They coped with all the torque and it was becoming a cass of bottle rather than grip in the corners.
Disapointed with the grip in the wet though. Pulling out of junctions needed a very light foot or the tyres would just spin up and when cold, they were unnerving through the bends.
Great comfort and not a lot of raod noise, but after 12k on the front they've become unbareable in the wet.
Moving up to the RE050A now. Hope they have more traction in the wet and last a bit longer!!
