195/50 15 Tyre Review Highlights

Kumho Ecsta KU31 rated 100% while driving a Ford Fiesta Zetec S
Driving on a combination of roads for 7000 spirited miles
Bought these tyres 2 and 1/2 years ago. I've now covered 7000 miles and done 2 track sessions on them and they still have 4.5-5.5mm front-rear.

Absolutely fantastic tyre with perfect wet/dry grip, progressiveness and feedback. I would 100% buy them again.

These would be HIGHLY recommended by myself.

Goodyear UltraGrip Performance Gen 1 rated 100% while driving a Mazda MX5
Driving on mostly country roads for 400 spirited miles
Though not powerful, the MX5 has finely balanced handling which is very sensitive to tyre choice.
It was therefore with some trepidation that I changed the summer Michelins for a set of Goodyear's latest Gen1 winters.
First impressions were encouraging: more comfortable than the unforgiving (but responsive) Michelin's; quiet too.
Now that they are fully bedded-in, I am still exploring the limits of grip available, but suffice to say cold greasy roundabouts can be approached with great confidence... Regards handling, there is perhaps just a little hesitation in initial steering response, but nevertheless the car feels just as nimble and willing to turn in as ever, with perfect balance - and I haven't even experimented with different pressures yet.
Standing water is scythed through with ease. Snow performance is yet to be tested, but I can confirm that grip on sheet ice is stable and predictable enough to allow for safe progress (or messing about!). In short I can wholeheartedly recommend these new Goodyears - 10 out of 10 so far...

Goodyear Vector 4Seasons rated 100% while driving a Ford Fiesta
Driving on a combination of roads for 1500 average miles
Bought these tyres to fit to my new ford fiesta zetec. Wife not pleased after buying new tyres for our brand new car, but after todays snow in Lanarkshire, Scotland. She was impressed to say the least. Grip in the snow / ice is truly exceptional. Not once did my ESP or TCS system cut in. Hill starts no problem from still position. Going round corners felt like I was driving on normal roads instead of ice/snow. Felt like I was in a 4x4 being able to go anywhere.
Would buy these again in a drop of a hat.

Bridgestone Adrenalin RE002 rated 100% while driving a Ford Fiesta
Driving on mostly country roads for 29400 spirited miles
I decided to upgrade my 2006 Ford Fiesta LX Hatch (4 door) from the Bob Jane Xenon Z7s that were on there (they still had a year of wear left) before to the best tyre I could find in my wheel size. I originally wanted to get Yokohama S.Drives but Bob Jane didn't have any however recommended the Potenza RE002s. I looked up reviews and decided to take these out.

Now I have to put this into perspective: When I drive my car down to the west coast of Tasmania, Australia and I floor it most of the way. These have some of the windiest roads in the country when going through Cradle Mountain/Wilmot (Google Maps it if you want) which I drove on the day I got these tyres. I was cornering faster than my judgment told me to and yet these tyres (damn near miraculously) never broke grip once. Now I know the Fiesta isn't a Chevvy Z06 or anything, but cornering hard is cornering hard and these tyres were right up to the challenge and they never skipped a beat and drove as if the car was on rails.

I haven't had much wet weather testing (which is unfortunate) but the old Xenons used to spin like nothing else when taking off in the wet (even before they were worn). The new RE002s just stick to the road, no spinning in the wet.

The road noise is slim to none (minus the bumps but on bad roads the tyres really can't do much).

The work car (2002 BA Fairmont) I drive in Melbourne had RE002s on it until I changed them earlier this week. It had done over 50,000 hard kms on it (before it was a work car) and yet the tyres were still quite useable (one was chipped and another was bubbled in the wall so we had to change them). So even with a lot of wear they are still very useable and still very good.

For my Fiesta it cost $152 a corner and I couldn't recommend them more. I can now trust my car when I drive it because I don't think that I'm going to go off the road around a wide/hard corner. The extra money is worth it if you want to drive your car well.

Verdict: Buy these bloody tyres. You will not regret it.

Uniroyal Rainsport 2 rated 100% while driving a Vauxhall Corsa

Having previous experience with the "rainsport" It was a no brainer to buy myself "rainsport 2"s

The tyres seemed to never wear down (I had them over 2 years before I sold them with the alloys) Amazing grip dry and almost as much grip if not the same in the wet, I know that might sound a bit unrealistic but I honestly felt I could push the car just about as much in the wet that I did dry.

The last set of tyres I bought were yokohama s-drives only due to the fact of not being able to get rainsports in my size, the yokos have similar levels of grip in the dry but I feel less confident pushing it in the wet

I would rather rainsports than the top brand due to my positive experiences with them

NT5000 195/50 R15 tire is Good. Great grip in Track and Public Roads. The tire has performed well under hard cornering particularly in wet. Also have a strong sidewall and rim flange guard. Noise is not noticeable.

Performance? I am satisfied. It's cheap but good quality.
